Mutual of Omaha is looking to fill a position on the Corporate Tax  team leading its information reporting and other functions.  This position is tasked with advisory and production responsibilities related to the enterprise’s information reporting responsibilities as well as other processes including compliance oversight, incentive program administration, and special projects.

  • Estimated Salary: $97,000-$120,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • You will be responsible for providing guidance to the business areas with respect to information reporting and product taxation, primarily related to life, health, and annuity products. 
  • You will be responsible for the coordination of the annual information reporting process and the production and filing of miscellaneous forms and correspondence.
  • You will be responsible for the review, administration, and oversight of use tax  and property tax filings prepared by a third party accounting firm.   This includes the administration of certain state incentive programs and well as audit administration.
  • You will be responsible for assisting with special projects and other matters as they arise. 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • You will bring a Bachelor of Science in accounting or equivalent and the Certified Public Accountant accreditation or equivalent.
  • You will bring a strong understanding of federal and state information reporting requirements and the taxation of insurance products.
  • You will bring  strong research and organization skills including the ability to effectively communicate to internal and external parties and to set, monitor, report out on key goals/hurdles and results, and establish and manage data files.

  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Prior experience in a large insurance environment with proven responsibilities related to information reporting and other compliance responsibilities.
  • Prior experience in automating or streamlining work processes eliminating non-value-added tasks or reporting.
